Hair loss (alopecia) can affect just your scalp or your entire body, and it can be temporary or permanent. It can be the result of heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of aging. Anyone can lose hair on their head, but it’s more common in men. Baldness typically refers to excessive hair loss from your scalp. Hereditary hair loss with age is the most common cause of baldness. Some people prefer to let their hair loss run its course untreated and unhidden. Some will want to treat it and we have the treatment for you!
Dr Iampen’s Recommendation – PRP~ Platelet Rich Plasma

What is PRP?

Plasma is a component of your blood that contains special “factors,” or proteins, that help your blood to clot and support cell growth. PRP is produced by isolating plasma from blood and concentrating it. Using your Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from your own blood supply promotes healing when injected. We are able to inject your own PRP into the scalp to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss.

What is the PRP injection process?

  • Our doctor will draw a sample of your blood. The amount of blood taken for injection into the scalp is approximately only 20 milliliters. This is slightly larger than one teaspoon.
  • The blood is placed into a centrifuge. This machine spins very quickly, causing the serum and plasma blood components to separate.
  • The separated plasma is prepared for injection, then the PRP is injected into the affected area.
  • Treatment takes about ¾ hour and within weeks you should start to notice regrowth
